Who We Are: In the winter of 2006, a dedicated group of chiropractors from around the globe met in Portland, Oregon, to identify key issues facing the profession. They resolved to work toward finding viable and productive solutions that would advance the cause of chiropractic. Although the meeting was NOT affiliated with any chiropractic organizations, participants shared a common vision of chiropractic as the premiere health care approach of the 21st century; one that maintained its independence and unique identity; one based on the merging of art, science and philosophy. The group took its name from its major mission: Advancing Chiropractic and formulated a visionary document known as the Portland Paper. In the months after the meeting, the group continued to work together, to develop the Portland Paper, a clear and concise, yet visionary document that outlines the mission and goals of the group for chiropractic’s future. Advancing Chiropractic’s web site is a place where you can add your name in agreement to the Advancing Chiropractic Mission Statement. Having more supporters of the mission statement will help us maintain and advance awareness of the harmful effects of vertebral subluxation within the colleges, chiropractic organizations, and the public. The web site will also provide an online connection to organizations, seminars, research, C.C.P. Guidelines, and other avenues that preserve the right for chiropractors to correct vertebral subluxation because it, in of itself, is detrimental to one’s health. Please tell others about our mission and our web site. The SILENT MAJORITY of chiropractors must be heard.
