It Is Time

for the Silent Majority of Chiropractors To Voice Their Opinion. So many of us were just too busy providing chiropractic care, we didn't observe what was happening to the Identity of Chiropractic. Unfortunately, when we dodge our responsibility in protecting the Identity of Chiropractic, we can never dodge the consequences.

Look at what is happening today. Many chiropractors who never understood the Core Values of Chiropractic and were having trouble building practices entered into the political arena. Over the years, these individuals have continually put their efforts in changing the direction of Chiropractic into a therapeutic model. If it wasn’t for some of our colleagues who understood these Core Values and gave up time from their practices, the Identity of Chiropractic would have been lost into another therapeutic approach for crisis care. It is time for the Silent Majority to speak!!!!

We are coming to the crossroads. Look at our profession. Many chiropractors lacking the Core Values of Chiropractic entered into politics. These chiropractors then dictated to the colleges what to teach the graduates entering into their state. Many of the chiropractic colleges compromised by reducing or eliminating the classes addressing the Core Values of Chiropractic Philosophy & Principles, and replaced them with medical concepts that are failing in today’s world. Unfortunately, many graduates now have to gain their knowledge of the Core Values of Chiropractic from seminars.

The Portland Project occurred to wake up the Silent Majority of chiropractors to make a statement to protect and advance the Identity of Chiropractic and its future. We truly believe that most established chiropractors still adjust the spine to correct the vertebral subluxation and want to keep Chiropractic separate and distinct as a health care profession.
